THE REWORKED PUMA KING II ARRIVES IN A STYLISH "MAJOLICA BLUE/WHITE/LIME PUNCH" COLOURWAY.

Thanks to the limited edition PUMA King II Camo, we more or less knew what we were going to get with the next generation PUMA King. Today the German brand have dropped the latest King generation, simply dubbed the ‘King II’, in a “Majolica Blue” colourway. The boots replace the previous PUMA King model launched in November 2012.

Everyone knows the history that comes with the ‘King’ name, but not since the PUMA King XL and King Finale has the silhouette boasted a truly traditional inspired design. Today the PUMA King is a sleeker, more modern take on football’s longest serving boot.

PUMA haven’t given us a dramatic redesign with this release, instead choosing the build on the previous King boot. New additions include a new EverFit lacing system that connects the laces to the out-sole via a mid-foot band for an improved fit, along with a redesigned 3D external heel counter. The King II is built on the same ComfortLast as the previous generation and carries over the same lightweight Pebax outsole, launching in a FG and SG mixed plate.puma-king-2-img5.jpg (1294×734)
In recent seasons the King has fallen behind the evoSPEED and evoPOWER in the pecking order, with players including Yaya Toure, Dante and Mikel Arteta defecting to either of the ‘evo’ silos. We don’t see this changing or the King II attracting any new players, but there will always be a market for leather football boots and there are few rivals to the King in this area.

The King II is constructed with a super-soft premium leather upper and as a way of reminding us, PUMA have added a full-grain leather symbol on the outside of the boot.
