Nike today announced a kit deal with the Norwegian Football Association to become the official Norway National Football Team kit supplier from January 2015. Nike replaces the current shirt supplier Umbro, who have been the official Norway Football Association Jersey supplier since 1996.
"We're very pleased to be partnering with the Norwegian Football Association. This is a further statement of our commitment to innovation and reaffirms our position as the world’s leading football brand," said Bert Hoyt, VP/GM of Nike Western Europe. "Norway is in the process of building a brand new team with many young and exciting players, and this is something that Nike wants to be a part of and help develop further."
Umbro was bought by Nike in 2007, while the US-giant sold Umbro to the Iconix brand group in 2012. Several national teams and clubs like England and Manchester City switched from the Double Diamond brand to Nike in the last few years.
